THE CASE / A CHINESE CORN-CHIP PRODUCER

A chip became
a product range.

A Chinese producer makes corn chips on machines built by our factory. It has developed several flavours and retail products from the formed chip.

01 / HOW THE RANGE BEGAN

Corn chips became
the focus.

The producer explored specialty protein crisps before turning its attention to corn chips. A cheese-flavoured chip gave the range its starting point: a familiar flavour on a distinctive popped base.

The company went on to develop other flavours and pack formats. Each product calls for its own seasoning and finishing work, even when the formed chip is similar.

02 / THE ANCHOR PRODUCT

A cheese chip
led the range.

The cheese-flavoured product pairs a triangular popped chip with a familiar seasoning. Its retail pack makes the flavour clear at a glance.

If you're developing a similar product, test the unseasoned chip with your material and mould first. Then work on seasoning, handling and packaging.

03 / THE RANGE

One chip base.
Several finished snacks.

Beyond the cheese-led product, the producer developed savoury, tea-inspired, floral and sweet snacks. Each version needs its own recipe and finishing work.

04 / WHAT MAKES THE PRODUCT

The machine forms
the chip base.

The machine makes the popped chip. Seasoning, coating and packing determine the product that reaches the shelf.

01 / MATERIAL & MOULD

Start with the chip you want.

Choose the feedstock, shape and target thickness for a material trial.

02 / FORMING

See what the machine makes.

Our popping machine forms the chip base. Test your material with the mould you intend to use.

03 / FINISHING

Develop the flavour and bite.

Seasoning, coating and other downstream steps affect taste and how the chips handle.

04 / RETAIL

Make it ready for the shelf.

The producer decides on packaging, positioning and distribution beyond the forming machine.

YOUR PRODUCT IDEA

What chip would
you put in a bag?

Tell us which corn material and shape you want to try. If you have a reference chip, show us that too. We can plan a material trial before you develop flavours and packaging.
